Description
The gatepiers at Ffrwdgrech date from the 19th century and are constructed from cut red sandstone. Each gatepier features a pedestal and a shaft that is divided by three raised bands, with a central raised strip on each face. They have a fluted frieze, a cornice, and a large grey ashlar cap adorned with acroterial corner ornaments and concave curves on the flat top. Flanking the gatepiers are low walls made of rock-faced red rubble that ramp down on each side. These walls are topped with grey stone coping and are accompanied by low plain iron railings.
