Description
The forecourt walls, rails, and gates at Nanternis Independent Chapel date from the 19th century. The low squared rubble walls surround three sides of the courtyard and feature flat stone coping. Above the walls, there is cast-iron railing with spear finials and a sub-rail that also has similar finials. The walls are recessed in front of central dressed stone piers, which are topped with boulder finials above flat coping. There is a decorative cast-iron gate leading into the courtyard, which is paved with cobbles that incorporate three lozenges of white pebbles.
