Description
Rhiwnant and Nantygraig are a pair of cottages, with Rhiwnant located to the north. The cottages include a later 19th-century stable in the front garden of Rhiwnant. Rhiwnant has a painted plastered front, while the plaster has largely been removed from Nantygraig, revealing the underlying rubble construction with squared quoins. Both cottages have slate roofs.
Rhiwnant has rubble gable and party chimney stacks with slate tabling. Its two-storey, three-bay front has later 19th-century 12-pane horned sash windows. A window above the door has been enlarged and now contains a 4-pane horned sash window. Slate sills are present, and a planked central door incorporates three upper lights, with a simple moulded architrave around the door.
Nantygraig is of similar dimensions, but its facade is offset to the left. It has larger 12-pane horned sash windows, although the cambered heads are obscured by render. Slate sills are present. A 20th-century front door has a narrow overlight. A small attic window is visible in the gable, and the rear has been remodelled with an outshut.
The later 19th-century rubble-built stable has a gable facing the road. It has a slate roof, a boarded door to the right, and a 9-pane window to the left, both with timber lintels.
