Description
This building is a cottage located near Felin Huw, constructed with whitewashed rubble and featuring a corrugated-iron roof, under which thatch is visible. It has a brick chimney stack on the right gable and a three-bay front that is offset to the left. The central entrance consists of a boarded door, with a small window to the left and a wider window to the right, although the glazing bars are missing. The windows have timber lintels.
To the left of the cottage is a later cartshed, built in a similar style to the house, with an opening that rises to the eaves. Although the interior was not available for inspection, it is reported to have a croglofft plan with original features. Photographs and a plan of the interior were published by M. Davies in 1991. The half-loft is situated over the parlour (to the left) and the cross-passage, accessible by a ladder from the kitchen. The parlour is described as tiny and unheated. The main room is said to have a large wickerwork fireplace hood supported on a cross-beam, along with a later freestanding oven that has a grate underneath. There is a small larder at the end of the passage with stone shelving. The partition of the parlour consists of rough overlapping planks, with wooden coat pegs on the passage side.
At the time of inspection in August 1995, the cottage was in a derelict condition.
