Description

This mid-19th century forecourt wall, with end piers, railings, and a gate, fronts High Chapel in Ravenstonedale. The low wall is constructed of large, hammer-dressed blocks with chamfered tops. The end piers are ashlar, approximately 7 feet high, square in plan, and capped with flagstones. Wrought-iron railings feature square-section standards with pointed terminals set diagonally. The central gate has similar standards to the top rail and rod standards with iron-twist terminals to the lock rail.
