Description
The gates, gate piers, overthrow, railings, and boundary walls at Chapel Antiques date from the late 18th century. They feature a pair of iron gates topped with spear-heads, set beneath a plain overthrow with a lantern. The gates are approached by two steps and flanked by a half circle of iron railings that are attached to a dwarf wall made of squared limestone blocks with weathered capping. Beyond the railings, there is a squared and coursed stone wall with plain weathered coping, standing about 2.3 meters high. This wall returns at the boundary to the right side cross-wing and to the left limit of the site, with part of the left arm rebuilt using six courses of brickwork. This collection of railings and walling is significant for both the building it encloses and its visual impact at the road junction.
