Description
Chapel Antiques is a non-conformist chapel that has been converted into a warehouse. It was built in 1790 and features squared and coursed limestone with raised alternating quoins, a modillion cornice, and a pediment. The gables are coped with concrete tiles. The building has a simple rectangular plan, with a one-storey brick cross-wing at the back that is not included in the listing.
The main front of the chapel is two storeys high and has a two-window arrangement with a common cill at the first floor. The windows have pointed heads, Y-tracery, and hollow mould mullions, all surrounded by a plat-band. In the pediment, there is a trilobed panel that bears the date of construction. At the ground floor, there are two pairs of panelled doors, also in plat-band surrounds. The flanks of the building are two storeys high and mirror the entrance front's two-window detail.
Inside, there is a gallery supported by Batty Langley cast iron columns on high podia. A raised reading desk made of pine remains in place as of the time of the survey. There is also a bench mark located to the right of the door.
