Description
Gates, railings, boundary walls, and piers to Coombe House date from the 18th century. The slender round spear-head railings are approximately 1 meter high and are set to a coursed limestone dwarf wall with capping. The railings sweep up to a central gate, which features similar details and is supported by iron standards, approached by five stone steps. The railings span the full width of the main facade, leading to square ashlar piers with weathered and moulded cappings. The return stone walls extend back to the facade, each containing an iron gate that matches the overall design.
