Description
No 3 The Street is a dwelling located in a short row, dating from the 18th century with a 19th-century facade. The building features squared rubble with a plain coped parapet on the left and eaves on the right, topped by a concrete tile roof. It consists of two sections: a lower cottage unit on the right, which is slightly stepped forward from the main block that has a stone slate roof. The main block on the left is three storeys high with two windows, featuring sashes with glazing bars set in plat-band surrounds with keystones. On the lower ground floor, there are two small square sashes on the left, similar to those above. The entrance has a six-panel door, part glazed, also in a plat band with a keystone, and is topped by a flat stone hood with a moulded edge on consoles to the right. The cottage section is two storeys high with two windows, also featuring sashes with glazing bars, and the ground floor has a plat band with keystones.
Inside, the main room at upper ground floor level has 18th-century painted panelling and fluted Doric pilasters. There are shell cupboards in both the entrance hall and the main room.
