Description
This is a narrow, single-arch rubble bridge that carries the road over the Fothau at a skewed angle. The segmental arch is slightly recessed on both sides and features voussoirs. The bridge has pitched coping on the parapet, which curves back at the west end on the downstream side, while at the east end, it continues slightly further on the upstream side. Beneath the bridge, the stream flows over the original ford stones. These shaped stones, which are of somewhat uniform size, are laid across the full width of the bridge in a shallow V profile, allowing the stream to run in the centre.
