Description
The Stable Range at Gilfachwen-isaf is a lofted stable that was formerly part of Plas Gilfachwen and is now associated with a former estate farmhouse. It is constructed from blue lias coursed rubble and features slate roofs. The stable block is a formal two-storey structure with three windows. It has a large central round-arched entry, with a window on each side and three similar windows above, all of which are near square and have blue lias voussoirs and keystones, although most are boarded up. The central entry provides access to stables on either side, while the loft can be accessed from rear outside steps. The roof is seven bays wide and supported by wishbone collar trusses. To the left, there is a single-storey outbuilding that includes a window, a door, and another window, all featuring similar voussoirs and keystones. This outbuilding has a three-bay pegged collar truss roof resting on projecting wall piers.
