Description
The Former Chapel House is a Calvinistic Methodist Chapel with a stucco-fronted lateral facade. It features two long arched windows at the center, flanked by two outer arched doors, each with arched gallery windows above. All windows retain their original glazing bars and have radiating bars at the heads, with matching fanlights positioned over the doors. The facade, which was later faced in the 19th century, includes raised surrounds around the windows, with the center windows having linked sills and a raised plaque situated between them. The doors are set within pilastered moulded doorcases, and there are raised strips at the outer angles of the facade. This design is similar to that of the former Ebenezer Chapel located on Lincoln Street, which dates back to 1833. Attached to the eastern end of the chapel is the former chapel house, which is also stucco with a brick stack at the eastern end, a door, and a single-window range.
