Description
This building at 1 Bridge Street is a house constructed from coursed rubble stone, topped with a slate roof and featuring stone end stacks. It is two stories tall and has a three-window range that includes well-spaced sashes: nine panes above and twelve panes below, along with a central door. The windows have stone voussoirs above their cambered heads and slate sills. The entrance features a six-panel door with a traceried overlight. The flat eaves are supported by paired brackets.
The attached building to the east, known as No 1, has similar bracketted eaves but includes a single large shopfront added in the 19th century. This shopfront has a central door flanked by two large three-light shop windows, which have Tudor-arched heads. The piers beside the shop windows support brackets for an overall shelf hood, and there are double doors with an overlight. At the rear, there is an outshut and a rear wing that contains a twelve-pane sash window.
