Description
The Tabernacle Chapel is a Calvinistic Methodist Chapel featuring a stucco-fronted lateral facade. The facade includes two long arched windows at the center and two arched outer doors, with arched gallery windows positioned above. All windows retain their original glazing bars and have radiating bars at the heads, complemented by matching fanlights over the doors. The later 19th-century stucco facing includes raised surrounds around the windows, with the center windows featuring linked sills and a raised plaque situated between them. The doors are set within pilastered moulded doorcases, and there are raised strips at the outer angles of the facade. This design is similar to the former Ebenezer Chapel located in Lincoln Street, which dates back to 1833. Attached to the eastern end of the chapel is a former chapel house, which is also stucco with a brick stack at the eastern end, along with a door and a single-window range.
