Description
Rock House is a mid-19th century house that originally included a service wing, which is now a separate residence. It is constructed from snecked rubble stone and features slate roofs. The main building is a large, two-storey structure with a three-window range, rendered end stacks, and altered flat eaves. The windows are 12-pane sashes with cambered heads, stone voussoirs, and slate sills. The broad central doorway is adorned with pilasters, an entablature, and a cornice made of painted timber, featuring a two-panel door with sidelights and overlights, as well as arched panels. In front, there is a dwarf wall topped with iron spearhead railings.
To the right, Rocklee is a lower two-storey extension with two windows, and its inner bay is canted out to align with the street. It has a slate roof, a stone west end stack, and a stone parapet with a plain shelf cornice. The windows are also 12-pane sashes, and there is a modern door with an overlight.
