Description
The service range located to the northeast of Monachty is an early 19th-century structure, likely built around 1830 to 1835. It is not marked on the 1843 Tithe Map, which may be an oversight.
The exterior features whitewashed rubble stone and a slate hipped roof. It is a single-storey building. The south front has a blocked door with an oak lintel on the left, two stub walls from a former lean-to, a central door with stone voussoirs, and a blocked window with a timber lintel to the right. Further to the right, there are two full-height doors with overlights, each leading to a single privy. The rear of the building is stuccoed and includes a door with an overlight on the left, a 12-pane sash window for a former office, and additional door and window to the right.
Inside, the main area consists of a single space with bolted collar trusses. This building is included as part of the exceptional group of service and farm buildings at Monachty.
