Description
25 Broad Street is a Grade II listed building, constructed around 1820 as part of a larger development alongside No 24. It was likely built as a shop with living accommodation above.
The exterior features lined-out render over brick and a slate roof with gable end stacks. The building stands three storeys high and has a two-window range. The ground floor has a mid-20th century shop front with a recessed doorway positioned to the right of center. The upper storeys are highlighted by outer and central pilasters, along with a plain frieze band beneath a moulded cornice. The first floor has 12-pane sash windows, while the second floor features 9-pane sashes.
This is a modest yet well-detailed early 19th century commercial building that contributes to a group of structures at the heart of the town.
