Harpton Farmhouse

Harpton Farmhouse is a 17th-century timber-framed house that was remodeled in the 19th century. It has two storeys and attics, featuring tall gables on either side of the front elevation. The front and side walls are rendered, while the rear wall is made of random rubble from various phases. The house has a slate roof with three tall red brick stacks that have diagonally-set triple shafts.

The front has four windows, which are flush-framed 12-pane sashes, with half-sashes in the dormers. To the left of the center is a 19th-century front door that is part-glazed and panelled, sheltered by an open timber porch with a trelliswork gable and pierced bargeboards. The rear elevation features 19th and 20th-century casements set under cambered voussoir lintels.

Inside, the outline of the timber framing is visible behind wallpaper, with an exposed scroll-stop beam in the entrance hall and wide chamfered beams in the rear room. There are also six-panel doors and 19th-century stairs.
