Description
Lower Pitts Farmhouse is a low box-frame farmhouse dating from an unspecified period. It has a single storey and an attic, with a roughcast finish on the south-west elevation and a two-storey north-east elevation featuring exposed timber-frame construction. The farmhouse has a low stone cross gable at the south-east end and a stone gable at the north-west end. The roof is covered with modern slate and has an undulating ridge. A large square roughcast stone chimney stack is located at the centre of the south-west elevation, with a stepped brick base leading to a brick stem. There is also a brick stack on the north-east elevation, and the stone stack at the cross gable has been heightened with brick.
At the south-east corner, there is a single-storey hipped roof extension. The south-west elevation features three pitched roof dormers with casement windows. Between the roughcast buttresses on the north-east elevation, there are modern metal frame casements, a modern door, and modern metal window frames, along with a modern door under a pitched hood. A second door on this elevation has been blocked off to the right. Additionally, there is an entrance and a casement window on the north-west end wall.
