Description

The Long Barn located to the south of Llanshay Farmhouse dates back to 1811, as indicated by a plaque on the west gable end. This very long barn is constructed of coursed rubble, with the upper floor of the east end partly weatherboarded. The barn is divided into two sections by a stone wall, with the eastern section being broader. It features a corrugated iron roof and has large boarded doors and windows with cambered heads, totaling 14 openings, along with ventilation slits in the western part. The plaque also notes the initials "RC 1811," which refer to the Rogers Coltman family of Stanage, who were the owners of Llanshay.
