Description

This barn, located southeast of Number 9 (Water Lane Farmhouse), dates back to 1774. It is constructed from coursed rubblestone and features an old tile roof. The barn consists of four bays, with an off-centre entry followed by two additional bays that were previously divided into stables and haylofts. It has half-hipped gables and a toplight with tracery in the north gable, which may have originated from the Parish Church. There are two date stones on the west wall of the end bays, inscribed with 'T(Thomas E (and Elizabeth)R(Rogers)1774'. The roof is a double purlin design with raking queen posts supporting the lower purlin and a collar for the upper. Additionally, there is a two-bay wagon shed with a half-hipped roof to the north, also featuring an old tile roof.
