Description

No. 8 The Knoll is a cottage dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of coursed rubblestone with some brick and features a thatched roof. The left part of the cottage has one bay and is one and a half storeys high, while the right part consists of two bays and is a single storey with a roof that has been raised in brick, painted to resemble stone, to create an upper storey. On the left side, there is a door to the right and a three-light casement window to the left, with a two-light dormer window above. The right side has two two-light casements and one dormer on the left. There are stacks at the gables, with the left stack lowered to the ridge.
