Description

A pair of cottages, originally built as a Friends Meeting House, dating to the early 19th century. The cottages are constructed of coursed rubble stone with slated roofs. They are two storeys high, with each cottage comprising one-and-a-half bays, and the central half bay shared by both, featuring a two-light window on the first floor. Number 18 has a part-glazed four-panel door, while Number 16 has a boarded door with an arched vision panel. Gothic Y-traceried leaded casement windows are found in the outer bays and across the party wall at mezzanine level, indicating a staircase. Flanking chimney stacks and projecting eaves are present. Number 18 has a lean-to addition on its left side, and Number 16 has a lean-to alongside a recessed two-storey, one-bay addition with a matching Gothic window, added around 1980.
