Description
Ystrad House is a 2-storey, U-plan house with a roughcast front and origins dating back earlier than its current form. It features a hipped slate roof with one brick stack on the center left, a rendered stack on the right side elevation, and another brick stack at the rear of the left cross range. The house has wide plastered eaves and displays 12 and 16-pane sash windows on the first floor, while the ground floor includes some tall 4-pane casement windows, all with deep plain reveals and panelled splays on the inside. The entrance is marked by a classical open-pedimented doorpiece, which contains a recessed 6-panel door set within a semi-circular entrance that has a panelled soffit.
The right-hand elevation is white rendered and features two windows along with a lean-to. The left side elevation is white roughcast and has modern alterations, while the rear of the house includes sash windows.
