Description
Wylcwm House is a three-storey building dating from around 1800, featuring a symmetrical stone front with three windows. The central bays have later scribed cement. It has a hipped slate roof, a moulded cornice, and a similarly moulded central pediment. The glazed part of the front is slightly advanced, with the central bay advanced even further. There are cill bands and 12- and 16-pane sash windows set in deep reveals with thin glazing bars, although the window in the first floor centre has been altered. A later projecting porch includes leaded lights, a dentiled cornice, and a flat hood. The recessed front door has a semi-circular fanlight and panelled reveals. The left side elevation is made of rubble with unmoulded wide plastered eaves, a blocked opening on the first floor, and a jettied lean-to. The facade extends to the first bay of the right side elevation, continuing the moulded cornice and sash windows at the rear, which is set back. The office of McArtney's (Estate Agents) attached to the rear extension is not of special interest.
