Description
The Swan Hotel is a three-storey building with a basement, featuring a three-bay front made of 19th-century stucco. On the right side, there is a 17th-century timber-framed cross-wing, which may have originally been part of a larder house.
The right-hand gable is advanced by the depth of one window and jettied, with plain bargeboards on a heightened slate roof. The ground floor has boxed bressumers supported by curved brackets, and there are casement windows. Below a decorative ironwork public house sign, there is a cellar entrance. The front has a gablet at the center above paired casement windows and a recessed entrance that is sheltered by a flat timber canopy, leading to a half-glazed door. To the left, there is a broad gable, and above a two-storey splayed bay window, there is a wide hood that connects to a band course over the ground floor. The right side elevation is rendered with a brick base and features five gables, all with casement windows.
