Description

Downton Inlet House is a rectangular brick building dating from 1897, featuring freestone dressings. It is constructed with brightly coloured brick in a Flemish bond pattern and has banded quoins. The building is topped with a cast-iron parapet that includes a semi-circular pediment, which incorporates a coat of arms and the inscription "1897 Elan Supply".

The front facade has two windows flanking a central door, the lintel of which is inscribed "Birmingham Corporation Water". At the rear, there are three windows with a semi-circular pediment similar to the front. Inside, the original machinery is visible beneath a boarded ceiling.

The property is enclosed by contemporary iron railings and a gate with spear heads.
