Description

This is a range of lofted outbuildings located opposite Lamb & Flag Cottages, constructed from rubble stone and covered by a single roof. The cartshed and stable on the right are still whitewashed and feature a slate close-eaved roof, while the cowshed on the left is roofless at the front, with much of its whitewash eroded. The rear roof of the cowshed includes some corrugated iron.

The cowshed is built from coursed rubble and has a central door with a window on each side, likely originally featuring stone voussoirs above cambered heads. However, the left window has been replaced with a timber lintel, and the right window has been widened, both now fitted with 20th-century metal glazing and brick infill below the original sills. The left end wall includes a later 19th-century brick-framed loft door, and the outshut at the rear has a small window and door in its end wall.

The cartshed and stable to the right have a large cambered-headed cart entry on the right, with stone voussoirs forming the arch. To the left, there is a tiny boarded window and door with a timber lintel. There is a straight joint connecting to the cowshed on the left, and the right end gable features a loft door with stone voussoirs. A corrugated iron lean-to is present at the rear.

The loft above the cartshed and stable has a three-bay collar-truss roof, while the loft over the cowshed has squared oak beams and a five-bay collar-truss roof with closely spaced trusses.
