Description
This is a range of outbuildings from the 19th century, designed in a Z-plan that encloses the south and west sides of a yard. The buildings are constructed from rubble stone, partly whitewashed, and topped with corrugated asbestos roofs. The building at the northeast end, which faces the drive, serves as a lofted cartshed. It features an east end entry with an elliptical arch made of stone voussoirs and six tiers of paired dove holes above slate shelves. The south side has three windows located under the eaves, along with two windows and a door below. The north side includes a central upper loading door flanked by a window on each side, with outside stone steps leading up to the loft door.
The lower range extends eastward, with a roof that is hipped at the northwest angle and returns south, featuring modern additions on the eastern front. The lower south end range has a stone stack on the coped gable at the south end. It includes a door at the left end, followed by large outside stone steps leading to an eaves-breaking loft door, and then a ground floor window, door, and window with cambered stone heads, along with a square upper window that has a timber lintel. Attached to the rear at the southeast angle is a low cow-shed range, which has one door with an overlight and timber lintel to the left, followed by four matching stable doors with cambered stone heads. There are also small square openings to the left and right of the range of four doors.
