Description
The Bridge Warehouse is a Grade II listed building constructed from banded rubble stone, featuring a hipped slate roof and timber brackets at the eaves. It stands five storeys tall and has an impressive height, with a five-window range. All windows are 3-light timber casements with slate sills. The ground floor windows have cut blue lias voussoirs and cambered heads, while the first and second floors have continuous timber lintels, and the third and fourth floors have individual timber lintels. The building has flat eaves supported by paired brackets.
The centre bay includes loading doors on each floor, with the ground floor featuring stone voussoirs and the upper floors under timber lintels. The topmost loading door is half height and has a gabled hoist projecting from the eaves above.
On the west end wall, there is a one-window range, with a modern enlarged opening at the ground floor fitted with sliding doors. The upper floors have timber windows with brick heads, and the top floor has a timber lintel. The ground floor at the south-west corner is chamfered.
The rear side of the building also has a five-window range, with cambered brick heads except for the top floor, which has timber lintels. The east end, facing Castle Street, features doors on each floor with brick heads, except for the top floor which has a timber lintel. The ground floor has a tall doorway with an overlight.
Internally, the building has timber construction with wooden posts.
