Description
Castle Chambers is a house with a stucco front and a hipped slate roof, featuring a moulded eaves cornice and a rebuilt stack at the south end. It is three storeys high and has a three-window range. The upper floor has cambered-headed windows with 6-pane sashes, the first floor has 12-pane sashes, and the ground floor to the right has plate glass. There is a central door and a canted bay window on the left. The sashes have painted slate sills and raised stucco surrounds with keystones. The door is from the late 20th century, and the stucco has been scraped back to reveal a cambered-headed blue lias stone doorway. The bay window features plate glass sashes and a hipped lead roof, with stucco angle pilasters. The north end wall has three windows with similar sashes on the upper floors. Inside, there is a narrow dog-leg stair with stick balusters and 6-panel doors.
