Description

1 Quay Street is a 3-storey house featuring stucco on rubble stone. It has a double front and an imitation slate roof with stone stacks at each end. The second floor includes two plate glass sash windows, while the ground floor has two 2-storey canted bays topped with hipped metal-sheet roofs. These bays have rounded angle shafts, plate glass sashes, and a panelled apron between the floors, all of which were added in the later 19th century. The original central front door is a 6-panel design with a traceried overlight, framed by a timber doorcase supported by two tall Roman Doric half-columns with a cornice above. There are brackets under the cornice between the capitals of the columns, and basement grilles are located on each side. The end walls are made of rubble stone.
