Description

This is a row of three houses located on Quay Street. They date from the 18th century and are built with a stucco exterior, covered by slate roofs and featuring stone or brick stacks. The houses are three storeys high; number 20 has two windows facing the street, while numbers 20A and 21 each have one. Originally, the second-floor windows had nine panes of glass, and the first-floor windows had twelve, however, the upper windows of number 20 have been altered and the first and second-floor windows of number 20A have been replaced.

Number 20 has a canted bay window with decorative column angles and a hipped metal roof. This bay window sits above a recessed pair of doors with overlights, accessible by four slate steps. Number 20A features a 20th-century broad opening with a door set within a glazed surround. Number 21 has an earlier 19th-century canted bay window with four, twelve, and four panes of glass, and a flat roof. Basement windows are located beneath the sills of the bay windows at numbers 20 and 21; number 20A has a basement light to the left of the entrance.
