Description
25 Quay Street is a pair of houses constructed from rubble stone with blue lias banding, topped with an imitation slate roof and featuring end brick stacks.
The building is three stories high and has a four-window arrangement. The second-floor windows are 6-pane sashes, while the first and ground floors have plate glass windows. To the left, there is a fine curved timber bow window with a configuration of 4-12-4 panes. The center features paired doors and a shop window to the right. The bow window has hornless sashes and a cemented base that covers a basement door.
The doors are framed by a single doorcase supported by two Roman Doric half-columns, topped with an entablature and cornice, all made of painted timber. The left door, for No 24, has panelled reveals, a half-glazed door, and an overlight. The right door, for No 25, features an original 6-panel door with a traceried overlight. The shop window to the right has modern glazing but retains its original cambered head. The windows are set on slate sills and have cambered cut stone voussoirs.
