Description

Broyan House is a house and office built from squared stone, featuring some banding in red brick and blue lias. It has stone end stacks, with the left stack truncated and the right stack being exceptionally broad, stepped with ten short shafts and vertical incisions between the shafts. The roof is made of slate.

The building is three storeys high and has a three-window range, with the north-east angle chamfered slightly on the ground floor. It has a raised plinth and flush banding at the sill level of the upper floors. The first floor is constructed with red brick over blue lias, while there are alternate bands of brick and blue lias under the second floor sills. The eaves course is made of blue lias. The windows are hornless sashes with flush blue lias sills and cambered heads that feature cut stone voussoirs. The upper windows have six panes, while the first floor windows have twelve panes. The ground floor features a centrally located arched doorway flanked by two early 20th-century shop windows, which are missing glazing bars. The door consists of two arched panels and has a radiating bar fanlight with cut stone voussoirs above the arch.

There is an early 20th-century timber columned porch with thin bulbous columns on high pedestals, along with matching half-column responds, a bracketed frieze, and a cornice. The shop windows have timber frames and matching bracketed friezes and cornices. The east end wall is banded in blue lias and includes one first-floor window.
