Description
This is a pair of two-storey houses built of whitewashed rubble stone, with slate roofs and brick end stacks. The buildings date from the 18th century. The left-hand range has a two-window facade, while the right-hand range has a single window.
The left-hand range features two first-floor sash windows with cambered stone heads and slate sills. One window retains its original 12-pane glazing, while the other has been reduced to 4 panes. The ground floor has a canted bay window fitted over a basement door and a pair of doors. One door is aligned with the sash window above and has a 6-panel design with a traceried overlight, set within a painted timber doorcase with a slate hood supported on timber brackets. The adjacent door is similarly 6-pane but has a plain overlight and a 20th-century shelf hood.
The right-hand range has a single 12-pane sash window with a timber lintel. Below is a 20th-century curved bow window, built on a rubble stone base that appears to be the remnant of an earlier, more substantial canted bay window. A 20th-century door, with a plain overlight and timber lintel, is located to the right.
