Description
These are a pair of houses dating from the 18th century, constructed from rubble stone with bands of blue lias. The roof is covered in imitation slate and has brick stacks at each end.
The front of the houses has three storeys and four window bays. Most windows are sash windows with six panes on the second floor, plate glass on the first floor, and a curved timber bow window with four twelve-pane sashes on the left-hand side. The ground floor features a shop window to the right. The left-hand house has a pair of front doors, while the right-hand house has a shop window. The bow window has hornless sashes and a cemented base above a basement door. The front doors are each set within a timber doorcase featuring two Roman Doric half-columns, an entablature, and a cornice. Number 24 has panelled reveals, a half-glazed door, and an overlight, while Number 25 has an original six-panel door and a traceried overlight. The shop window on the right has modern glazing but retains the original cambered head. The windows are fitted with slate sills and have cambered cut stone voussoirs.
