21 Quay Street

21 Quay Street is a row of three houses built in the 19th century, featuring stucco exteriors, slate roofs, and stone or brick chimney stacks. The buildings stand three storeys tall, with No 20 having two windows and the other two houses, No 20A and No 21, each having one window. Originally, the second-floor windows had nine panes and the first-floor windows had twelve panes; however, the upper windows of No 20 have been altered, and both the first and second-floor windows of No 20A have been changed.

The ground floor of No 20 features a canted bay with column angles and a hipped metal roof, followed by a pair of recessed doors with overlights, accessed by four slate steps. No 20A has a 20th-century broad opening with a door set in a glazed surround. No 21 has a six-panel door with an overlight and an earlier 19th-century canted bay with four-12-4-pane sashes and a flat roof. The bays of No 20 and No 21 include basement lights beneath the sills, while No 20A has a basement light to the left of its entry.
