1 Rook Terrace including Forecourt Walls Railings & Gates

1 Rook Terrace consists of two pairs of houses built in red brick with slate roofs and brick stacks, which are similar but not identical. The first pair, Nos 3 and 4 Brynheulog and Brynteg, was constructed in 1886. Each house is two stories with an attic and features a 2-window range, showcasing decorative brickwork typical of the Cardigan Brickworks. Nos 3 and 4 have paired doors, canted bay windows, and upper windows with notched surrounds, cambered heads, and carved keystones. They also feature 4-pane sash windows and brick dormer gables over the outer bays. The eaves course is moulded brick with a zig-zag pattern, roll-mould, and a slate gutter course. The windows have timber panels above the sashes with pierced decoration, and the dormer gables include carved roundels. The doors, which have two long arched panels, are still intact on No 3 and feature overlights and a shelf hood supported by rustic brackets, likely made of cast iron.

Nos 1 and 2 are similar in style, but their doors are not paired; instead, they are aligned under the right side window of each house, with the gables centrally located. These doors have pilastered doorcases with cornices, and the doors themselves feature arched panels on No 1 and glazed panels on No 2.

All four houses are accompanied by low walls made of yellow brick, topped with cast-iron railings and wrought iron gates.
