Description
South Cottage is a house constructed of painted rubble stone with a slate roof and three stone stacks, including end stacks for the original range and a left end stack for a 20th-century addition. The building is two storeys high and was originally a four-window range, which has been extended by one bay in a matching style to the south end.
The first floor features square, nine-pane top-hung opening lights, all from the 20th century. On the ground floor, there is a 16-pane window to the left in the 20th-century addition, followed by two 16-pane windows with a door between them. There is a blocked door to the right and a smaller nine-pane window at the extreme right, with all glazing being 20th-century and featuring top-hung opening lights. The door is a board door set in a 20th-century timber gabled porch with rubble side walls.
At the rear, there are four plus one casement pair windows on the upper floor, while the ground floor has an added lean-to to the left, which is part of Corner House, along with a half-glazed door and a 20th-century window. There is also a French window leading to the added bay on the right. The interior has not been inspected.
