Description
The Fir Tree is a former inn dating from the 19th century, constructed of coursed rubble stone with a slate roof and stone end stacks. The building features overhanging gable verges and eaves. It is two storeys high with a three-window south front, which includes 12-pane sash windows, except for the broader central window that has a pair of 8-pane sashes. There is a central 20th-century door with an overlight, along with stone voussoirs and stone sills.
On either side of the main structure are low wings; the right wing has one pair of casement windows, while the left wing features a 16-pane sash window and extends across the end at right angles, with half-hipped gables to the north and south. The north gable has a square shape with a 20th-century 9-pane window above a 20th-century garage door, which has brick sides and a concrete lintel. The west side of the building includes two half-hipped 20th-century dormers and four square windows on the ground floor, while the north end gable has a pair of 12-pane loft windows above another window and door.
The rear of the house has a painted brick northeast wing and a brick lean-to on the right. Additionally, there is a rubble stone garden wall attached to the end of the wing, which features a Victorian letter-box inset. The property has not been inspected.
