Description
Llawr Llan Farmhouse is a two-storey and attic farmhouse built from rubble stone, which was formerly colourwashed. It features tall slate hipped roofs, with part of the roof being stone-tiled since 1991. The building has a T-plan layout, with the northern cross range hipped to the east and gabled to the west, where there is an end stack. The main range is hipped to the south and has a stone ridge stack.
Entry to the farmhouse is from the east side, through a four-panel door with an overlight and timber lintel, located in the angle between the main range and the cross-wing. This door is sheltered by a 20th-century hipped porch. The central part of the main range has a triple casement window set in a brick cambered-headed surround. Above this, under the eaves, is a 12-pane horned sash window with brick sides, and to the left is a pair of casement windows. The roof includes a large gabled dormer featuring a pair of casement windows.
The cross-wing, which projects slightly to the right, has a matching dormer. The first-floor and ground-floor left windows have brick sides, while the ground floor on the right has a pair of casement windows. The northern side of the farmhouse has a two-window range of replacement windows in brick surrounds, including three 12-pane sashes and one triple casement.
On the southern end wall of the main range, there is a four-pane sash window on each floor, with the lower one located in a former doorway. There is a lean-to on the rear west wall, which has a blank panel over a casement window and a rear door with two windows. The west end of the cross-wing features a loft light, a pair of casement windows with brick sides and a timber lintel on the first floor to the right, above another pair of casement windows with a timber lintel. The interior of the farmhouse is not available for inspection.
