Description

Plas Newydd is a building that features a pebbledashed exterior and a slate pyramid roof with an apex banded stone stack. It has a basement and two storeys, with flat eaves supported by paired brackets. The north front has three windows, which contain later 19th-century plate glass sashes with slate sills. The central door is accessed by a flight of slate steps and was rebuilt in the 20th century. The door itself, along with its overlight, is also from the 20th century, but the original doorcase remains, showcasing a modified classical style with two unfluted Greek Doric half columns, a triglyph frieze, and a prominent oversailing cornice. There are basement lights on each side of the entrance. The west wall has two windows and features a conservatory added in 1991. There is also a lower two-storey rear wing on the southeast side.
