Description

The property comprises a group of converted barn ranges constructed of rubble stone. At the upper end of the west range is an 18th-century lofted cartshed and stable, dated 1833, with a stone tile roof. It is two storeys high and has four bays. There are four cambered-headed square windows set low beneath the eaves, above a door to the right and two slightly longer windows and a cart entry to the left. The cart entry has a cambered head, set higher than other ground floor openings due to the site's slope. Stone voussoirs feature in all openings, along with stone sills. The left end wall has exterior steps leading to a platform in front of the loft door, which also has stone voussoirs. A cambered-headed window is located in the gable above. The windows have early 21st-century glazing.

Downhill to the right is a lower range with a slated roof. It has a door on the extreme left, a window to the centre left with a timber lintel and a small light under the eaves above, two doors centrally to the right, and a large loft opening on the extreme right. This range also has early 21st-century glazing and doors. In the northwest angle is an L-plan former timber-framed barn with a lower slate roof. A modern building is situated within, set back behind the skeletal timber frame.

The northeast corner features a large L-plan range of stone-tiled barns, and the north range contains a barn with a full-height doorway and a stone-tiled pent roof to the right, and vent loops in a double row of three to the left, and one to the right. A similar range runs uphill on the east side, exhibiting a similar double row of vent loops, two on each side of a doorway with a stone-tiled hood.

Uphill to the right is a long lofted cartshed range under the same roof. This range has three cambered-headed cart entries with stone voussoirs, and a square loft window under the eaves immediately above the central opening. A straight joint marks the addition of a section to the south, featuring a door and window to the right. The right end gable has a loft door with a window above it.

The barns were not inspected internally.
