Description
This is a 19th-century range of farm buildings located to the west of West Orielton Farmhouse. The outbuildings are constructed from whitewashed rubble stone, with the main section facing east. This part includes a large lofted cartshed and a barn. The cartshed features a corrugated iron roof and has three large cambered-headed cart entries with keystones, a door to the right, and four upper openings located under the eaves. The door on the right leads to stone steps that ascend to a loft door. The south end wall has two loft windows with brick heads. At the southeast corner, there is a rounded rubble stone gatepier. The cart-entry arches are made of yellow brick on the inside, and there are three similar arches on the rear wall, which are now part of a lean-to structure.
The barn to the north is slightly taller and has a slate roof. It includes a ground floor door on the left, a corrugated iron lean-to, and a door with a window above it on the right. The upper section at the south end is a full-height barn with rear doors that are also full-height. Both the north and south sides are lofted, featuring a rear door and window with brick heads.
There is also a single-storey range facing south, which has an asbestos roof. This section includes a window, a door, a wide door, and a small window on the south front, followed by an end section with a slate roof, a window, and a door.
