Description
This is a range of farm buildings located to the northeast of Gelli Gynan Farmhouse, constructed from rubble stone and featuring roofs made of slate or corrugated iron sheets. The buildings form a linear row running north, consisting of a barn, cowsheds added to the left, and a lofted cartshed added to the right.
The south gable end of the cartshed addition has a broad cart entry with a massive timber lintel and a square boarded loft window above. The west side features a similar loft window in the center and a door to the ground floor on the left. The position of this door against the gable end of the adjoining range indicates that this section is an addition. The original outside steps to the barn loft have been moved inside.
The main range is taller, with the barn containing two vent loops on each floor to the right of the double doors, which have stone voussoirs. There is also a window and one vent loop on each floor to the left. A straight joint to the left indicates that the cowsheds are an addition. The roof is continuous but clad in sheet material. From the barn, there is a window with a brick head, a blocked low door with stone voussoirs, and a stable door with a brick head. The upper end of the range is a later addition and features five doors with brick heads, of which the second, fourth, and fifth are partially blocked with inserted windows.
