Description
Alyn Bank is a house built from squared tooled stone, featuring a slate roof with flat eaves. Originally, there were two chimneys on the rear roof slope, but only one remains. The building is two storeys high with a three-window front, showcasing large sash windows. The first floor has square 12-pane sashes, while the ground floor features long 20-pane sashes and a central door with an overlight, set within a 20th-century half-glazed pedimental porch. There is a raised plinth and a band along the front.
On the right end wall, there is a three-window range of closely spaced windows with two bands across. The gable includes a 12-pane window, and there are square 12-pane windows on the first floor, one of which has been replaced with 20th-century glazing. The ground floor has French windows on each side of a 16-pane sash. The left end is similar in style but is roughcast, with blank windows in the centre on both the ground and first floors. The outer ground floor windows include plate-glass to the left and a 16-pane sash to the right. The plans from 1821 indicate an intended circular opening in the pedimental gables, although this may not have been executed. The rear, made of rubble stone, has one square 12-pane sash window located at the centre of the first floor.
