Description

The Pound is a circular enclosure made of whitewashed rubble stone, dating from an unspecified period. The walls are approximately 2 meters high and feature flagstone coping. There is an entrance doorway leading to the lane, which is constructed with stone voussoirs. To the right of the doorway, a short length of wall with sloping coping extends towards a narrow gap between the pound and the river. Additionally, on the right side of the pound, there is a low escape hole that has a projecting stone lintel.
