Description
Pennal Independent Chapel is a small, symmetrical, single-storey chapel built with large blocks of random stone, which has been white-washed on the front and covered with a slate roof. The long-wall facade features a central entrance that includes a panelled door with a 4-pane rectangular overlight set beneath a timber lintel. Flanking the entrance are narrow 12-pane horned sash windows, positioned just below the eaves. At the rear, there is a central 12-pane horned sash window, which is set under a head of stone voussoirs that illuminates the pulpit. The disturbed masonry, including some large boulders at the rear, may suggest that the chapel has earlier origins.
Inside, the chapel features a wooden pulpit and a set fawr enclosure adorned with floral reliefs and roundels. There are wooden benches, deeply splayed windows, and the roof is ceiled at collar level.
