Description
Deildy, also known as West Lodge, is a single-storey lodge constructed from coursed rubble, featuring a plinth and other dressings. The slate roof is notable for its distinctive stepped and curved Dutch gables, along with octagonal stone chimney stacks. The two prominent gables on the north and west sides meet at an extruded corner. These gables, as well as those on the east and south sides, include broad kneelers that are similar in style to other buildings by Londonderry in the town centre, and they feature diamond panels with blank shields. The rear gable on the south side has a leaning chimney stack at its apex. The lodge has 4-pane mullion and transom windows adorned with cornice bands. To the left of the main entrance, beyond the park gates, there is a lean-to porch. Additionally, there is a modern garage attached to the west side and a modern extension to the southeast.
